Yes!  All Visits to Shades require an appointment.  You can book online in real-time with instant email confirmation by clicking here at any time!

Hoping for a last-minute pop-in?  Check the Online availability for same-day appointments or give us a call at 250-475-1220 and we will very happily accommodate you if we have room!  Booking ahead is always recommended to guarantee space on busy days or busy seasons as we can often fill up quickly.

Bridal Gowns | Brand New from roughly $1,600 – $5,000 with the majority falling between $2,000 – $3,800

Bridesmaids & Formal | $300 – $600

Prom | $500 – $1,000

We have approximately 3-5 major sample sales per year and many options for off-the-rack!

Your appointment has seating for up to 3-4 guests!  We recommend bringing along only a select few confidants to keep your appointment intimate and the emphasis on you while making sure you’re experience is not overwhelming.

We carry hundreds of gowns and dresses in sample sizes ranging from size 4 – 24 and many are orderable in sizes 00-32. Using clips, modesty panels and your comfort level, we will use samples in many different sizes to showcase different styles on you, and then order in the most appropriate size for you!

Bridal: approximately 5-7 months

Bridesmaids*: approximately 3-5 months

*ask us about rush options as quickly as 4 weeks

Prom: approximately 4-8 months, depending on the time of year!

Accessories: approximately 2-8 months.  While we carry many in-stock items and can pull from manufacturer’s stock for shorter timelines, many of our veils have extended shipping timelines currently and we encourage you to order your veil/accessories when you order your dress to keep your options open!

We have many incredible options for off-rack purchases as well, but encourage you to leave yourself plenty of time to keep your options open and avoid any rush charges.

Yes! Many of our gowns are available for off-the-rack purchase!
We strongly recommend choosing a gown close to your own measurements, not smaller and no more than 1-2 sizes bigger for the most successful alterations! When in doubt, we’re more than happy to connect directly with a local seamstress to confirm comfortable, successful alterations prior to purchase.

As much as we (very, very much!) love to celebrate we cannot safely nor legally accommodate the consumption of alcohol in our shop.  We are unable to allow outside food or beverages into the shop for the care of ours and clients’ garments.

No, the price of alterations is always above and beyond the price of the dress. We are certainly happy to discuss rough expectations of those prices, and you’re always welcome to discuss directly with your chosen seamstress to confirm pricing.
